About Dr. Osbourne
When a group of escaped patients from the Morningdale Psychiatric Hospital arrive in court, Elmore Watkins (Charles Bouvier), a cabbie, complains that they had him drive around the city before stiffing him on the fare. Sue Harper (played by guest star Deborah Harmon), who's the visiting temp defense attorney from Legal Aid, is adamant in her defense of the patients that they're being "railroaded" in their complaints against the conditions and lack of priveleges in the hospital where they reside as she prepares to help the patients launch a complaint lawsuit against the hospital.
Dr. Osbourne, who runs the hospital, contends to Sue and the court that it's in the patients best interests to drop the complaints, as a lawsuit would put the hospital out of business, as the patients, many who have no next of kin to look after their care, could wind up homeless, and those that do have relatives still wouldn't get affordable and adequete care, as the patients, with Harry's help, settle their demands with Dr. Osbourne, as they return to the hospital with him.
