From Snoop to Nuts: Part 1 was the 18th episode of Season 6 of Night Court, also the 119th overall series episode. Written by Harry Anderson, the episode was directed by Jeff Melman. The episode, which aired on NBC-TV, first aired on March 15, 1989. 


Harry works undercover to get the goods on a notorious mobster named Marty Cologne, and earns a contract on his life when Buddy, the former mental patient, who was once married to his mother,  spills the beans about being Harry's real father. Part 1 of 2 part episode story arc.

Harry plays up the role of an embittered judge hurting for cash, as part of a sting to nail gangster Marty Cologne. Christine, following Harry around, is taken in by the act, and tells Buddy, who reveals to Harry that he is his biological father. When Buddy lets slip the truth about the sting to Cologne, the gangster sends a pair of hit men to the courthouse.

Plot Summary

In the first episode of a two-part story, Christine (Markie Post) is shocked by the behavior of Judge Harry T. Stone (Harry Anderson), who seems poised to accept a bribe from mob boss Marty Cologne (John Aprea). What Christine doesn't know is that Harry is participating in a sting operation against Cologne on behalf of the Feds. Unfortunately, Harry's self-proclaimed stepfather Buddy (John Astin) doesn't know this either--and when he finds out, he glibly spills the beans to Cologne!
