George Pentecost (born July 15, 1939-died December 23, 1993) made two guest appearances on Night Court; first, as Dr. Laurence Osbourne, a psychiatrist, in the Season 2 episode "Nuts About Harry" (episode #14), then as Father Gilday, a Catholic parish priest, in "Giving Thanks" in Season 4 (episode #2).
Career[]
A native of Detroit, Michigan, George is best remembered for his role as loan shark Tony the Tuna on the NBC-TV daytime soap opera television series, Another World from 1984 to 1988, and 1994 to 1995.
George also appeared in the films, Enemies (1974), All The President's Men (1976), The Last Married Couple In America (1980), and made many guest television show appearances, which included the short-lived 1977 CBS-TV serie Delveccio starring Judd Hirsch, ABC-TV's short-lived Happy Days spinoff series Blansky's Beauties, its parent series, Happy Days, ABC-TV's Laverne & Shirley, Eight Is Enough, Benson, Charlie's Angels, NBC-TV's Family Ties, Remington Steele, and CBS-TV's Rhoda, Lou Grant, Newhart", Major Dad, as well as Night Court.
Death[]
Pentecost was also a talented stage actor, appearing in over 17 Broadway plays. He died after a long illness.
