About Judge Harry[]
Harry's Generally a young, good-humored judge and amateur magician whose parents were former mental patients. His zany antics and goofball sense of humor is tempered by endless compassion and sincere belief that everyone has good in them. Harry can be a little self-righteous at times, but more often than not's the moral center of the show. Harry loved movies and fashions from the 1940s, was vocal in his disdain for modern music (especially Barry Manilow), and idolized crooner Mel Tormé.
In the series' pilot episode, attorneys, Dan Fielding and Sheila Gardiner (played by Gail Strickland in this episode only) and Lana Wagner (Karen Austin), the court clerk at the time, questioned the selection of Harry as the new judge, as he had been around the 1000th on a list which the Municipal Court used to contact prospective judges; he got his assignment because the outgoing Mayor of NYC made a huge number of appointments on his last day, and Harry was the only person on the judges' list who was home and was able to receive the call and accept his nomination.
All his co-workers manage to warm up to him, he was able to solve a dispute between a married couple who were brought into his courtroom (after the couple got into a fight in the cafeteria, which roughed up the lawyers, particularly Dan, whose shirt was ripped off his back, while he was still in his tie and sport jacket!) as he was able to get them to reconcile and win the co-workers over.
Biography[]
Harold T. Stone Was born possibly on October 14, 1950. His mother left him when he was five years old. For a long time, Harry thought his mother abandoned him, but it turned out she went in and out of mental institution wards, where she met Buddy which explains her absence from most of Harry's life.
When Harry was a teen, he stole a car and crashed into a liquor store. This puts a strain relationship between Harry and his father who died not long after, thus he didn't get to see his son turning his life around and becoming a judge.
As revealed in the sequel series after the end of the original series Harry had a wife named Gina and a daughter named Abby.
In the sequel series, it's revealed Harry died in 2018.
