Synopsis[]
A Supreme Court Judge steals Mac as court clerk for appearances, as it causes Harry to get riled.
Storyline[]
Harry gets riled when a Justice Welch, a New York Supreme Court judge (Lawrence Dobkin) attempts to woo Mac away to serve on his staff as an office administrative assistant and legal aide.
What seems like such a great career opportunity soon turns sour, to Mac, as he learns that the real reason that Justice Welch is considering him for his staff was for him to be used as a vote-getting token minority on his staff, foremostly because of the ever changing demographics of the district in which he serves, as 50% of his constituents are now African-Amercan or Latino; when Mac objects to the idea, Justice Welch doesn't see it as such aproblem, as he considers Mac well qualified for the job, and he also cites "the fact that he's black doesn't hurt, either".
Mac decides to turn the job offer down as he cites that when he returns home from work at his court clerk job, his wife Quon Le and child see him as the man he is, but if he accepted this job, they'd be seeing a much different person, as he couldn't face himself in the mirror.
Meanwhile, trying to get over the death of his lackey and friend, Dan hires an English valet in an attempt to replace Phil.
