Noam Pitlik (born November 4, 1932-died February 18, 1999) directed the season 2 episode of Night Court titled "Harry and the Madam. Noam was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA.
Career[]
A multifaceted entertainment figure, Noam wore numerous hats as a director, actor, and producer, Noam is well known to TV sitcom viewers for his role as LAPD Officer "Swanny" Swanhouser on the hit NBC-TV sitcom Sanford and Son. As a respected character actor, Noam made numerous guest appearances on many popular TV shows in the 1960's and 1970's such as The Andy Griffith Show, Gomer Pyle, USMC, The New Dick Van Dyke Show, Barnaby Jones, Police Story and Barney Miller before transitioning to the area of directing TV shows, which included Barney Miller, Night Court, the ABC-TV version of the 1980 hit film Nine to Five, and films, which included a role as co-executive producer of the 1990 comedy film Anna.
Personal life and death[]
Noam was married three times; his first marriage was to Jesse Blostein. The couple married on February 11, 1967, and then divorced on September 29, 1970. Pitlik's next marriage was to Linda Hirsch on June 23, 1974, but they divorced on April 25, 1977. Pitlik then married Susan Whittaker on January 18, 1986. They would remain married until his death from lung cancer on February 18, 1999.
