Ralph Manza (born December 8, 1921-died January 31, 2000) appeared in four episodes of Night Court, beginning with the Season 1 episode "Pick a Number, where he played the role of Jerome Chapel; he later appeared as a subway commuter in the Season 3 episode "The Hostage", and then as Angelo in the Season 8 episode "Day Court" and in "Opportunity Knock Knocks: Part 2" in Season 9.
Ralph appeared on daytime briefly in 1963 as an original cast member of General Hospital where he played the role of Mike Costello. Manza went on to became a character actor appearing on several primetime TV series, which included such popular shows as 77 Sunset Strip, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Gomer Pyle, USMC, Gunsmoke, Barney Miller, and also included in his later years, Seinfeld, The Nanny and Friends. Manza also made appearances in several feature films and had a very active career up until the time of his death. In all, Ralph made appearances in over 160 films and television programs.
Ralph, who was a lifelong California resident, died in January 2000 at Scripps Health Hospital in San Encinitas, CA, a San Diego suburb, of a second heart attack. He was survived by his wife of 52 years, Catherine, his children and their spouses, and three grandchildren.
